Tour starts with the sightseeing of Temples from 7th Century to 12th Century AD.
Parasurameswar Temple from 7th Century AD is a fine specimen of Oriyan (of Odisha) style of architecture with beautiful carvings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses; Mukteswar Temple Complex from 10th Century AD displays exquisite carvings and architecture and is a gem of ancient Odishan temple architecture; the elegant reddish and yellow sandstone built Rajarani Temple from 10th Century AD features erotic sculptures; Brahmeswar Temple Complex with its remarkable towers; and Lingaraj Temple Complex is one of the oldest and largest Hindu temples in the city (Non Hindus are not allowed inside Lingaraj Temple. We will show them on erected Platform. Now proceed to have sumptuous lunch at a good local restaurant.
After lunch, visit of Tribal Museum and Khandagiri Udayagiri Caves of 1st Century BC. These caves are the earliest group of Jain rock cut shelters. The caves hold importance for its history, rock-cut architecture, art and religion. Once the dwelling retreats or cells of the Jain ascetics, here visitors can feel the wisdom of the people of 1st century BC. King Kharavel and His Queen spend last part of life in Hathi Gumpha and Rani Gumpha. All their activities are written in Palli language in Hathi Gumpha and translate to English.
Post sightseeing, you will be dropped back to the hotel.
